Re: Windows XP Pro x64 Compatibility List

Ive got United Offensive running but if you didn't dual boot its gonna be a pain in the proverbial,Installed call of duty fine in 64 bit enviroment and like Richard couldn't get uo to install so i booted back into 32 bit windows installed uo and now under 64 bit it plays fine,I also imported Far cry from my Games hdd(unfortunatly on a raid card with no 64 bit drivers) and that too plays fine

Re: Windows XP Pro x64 Compatibility List

I think running dual boot is the best way for now (not that I am, I like to take risks ).
You can easily modify the boot order if you need to, if anyone has trouble doing this then let me know.

Re: Windows XP Pro x64 Compatibility List

I must say dual booting mine was a pain I installed 64 bit on disk 0 slave partition leaving behind backed up data(I know im a pratt lol ) Had to move 60 gig of data then create ghost images of xp pro and xp 64 bit installs ,then repartitioned sensibly into 3 partitions instead of 2 ,ghost back both o/s and then move back the 60 gig to partition 3 (yes i have far to much time on my hands )

Re: Windows XP Pro x64 Compatibility List

I would as well - Avast is free and does the job nicely.
The company who made that software must be doing some good business at the moment - every 64-bit website is recommending it, good on them for getting in there so quickly.

Re: Windows XP Pro x64 Compatibility List

Rammy did you install a ide hdd as well as the rapters?if you did just get the cd off microsoft or wait for the download, then just install it normally but direct to ide hard drive. This will install xp64 leaving 32 bit fine,it will also automatically create a dual boot option where you choose what os to use.
