To all that helped me build my PC
Right well, yesterday my PC was switched on for the first time and it is nice and healthy on its first day into this world.
As you probably noticed over the past 2 months I had been asking a million questions about building PCâ₠¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢s so I am glad to finally be at the end of the journey.
Iâ₠™m starting this topic to say thank you to all the people who have helped me out and to everyone who offered me advice.
From the big decisions such as processor and motherboard compatibility right down to the power supply and the †˜in the caseâ₠¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢ building, you all helped me out loads.
Not only did you offer me help, but Iâ₠™m sure youââ‚ ¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢ve also saved me a lot of money too.
For other first time builders out there, Iâ₠™d say if you feel confidant, give it a go.
Iâ₠™ve learnt a lot out of doing this and had useful tips from people on this forum. It feels great once you have your PC up and running. I had always wanted to build a system to see how you can go from an empty case and a million different pieces, into a fully functioning PC.
If youââ‚ ¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢ve got the time, and you are able to spend nights asking questions and reading up on detailed product specifications, then you will be happy when you finally get your equipment and start building.
So, after all this time I thought Iâ₠™d show you my system, finally up and running.
The monitor is a Samsung 19â₠¬Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ CRT that I got for a really good price and will be great for my music and graphics work.
The case is an Aopen H600 window case and there are a total of 5 fans including the CPU and PSU.
The power supply is a silent Tagan 480 Watt PSU and I can tell you it sure is silent, even a lot more silent than my old AMD k6 with only 2 fans !!!
To All that contributed to my build, A big thank you to you !
Halcyon / Tim.

Re: To all that helped me build my PC
I'm glad it all works for you. I'm unbelievably wary of buying new components now after the last two lots of memory that I purchased were knackered, constant blue screen's and corrupt downloads I'm stuck running 256 meg of slow assed PC2100 until Tuesday!

well done, from someone who would like to, but doesn't have the time (read guts) to build their own. Kudos to you!
