Re: Freeware Alternative Software List

I'm look fro some software to catalogue my CDs.

All I can find is either trial, spyware riddled, limits no of CDs to encourage you to buy.

Ideally I would like something like my DVD catalogue SW (www.dvdprofiler.com)

Not sure if it`s already been mentioned but i wouldn`t be without a "gparted" live cd for all those partitioning jobs.

Re: Freeware Alternative Software List

Windows XP allows you to "Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server" - unless your computer is part of a domain. Which is a problem for my work laptop, as most of the time I'm not connected to the domain, and the clock drifts.

Windows Time Synchronizer (http://www.wintimesync.com/downloads.php?lang=en) is a freeware utility that solves this problem wonderfully.

This is a great resource. Not only loads of free stuff but there's many old versions too - handy when authors start adding unwanted 'features':

The downside to that is that if you use an older version of something you're also getting any bugs or security flaws that it had.
