Problems with Belkin Router and NTL

I'm having problems with a Belkin 4port router and NTL cable connection, the router needs resetting every 24 hours or so else it just sits there unable to connect to anything (either PCs or the internet).
The question is does anyone have one of these working with NTL and if so what firmware are they using?

I found this post, which seems to suggest it should work, but not for me, can anyone help??

possible Th'engineer if it's the same person who posts here and Anticap

Kind of, is that the Belkin 4 port router or just a hub? I'm running Runtime Code Version: V1.20.003 and just wondered if anyone had had more success than me in keeping the bloody thing connected for more than 24 hours

Are you all using Static IP's ?

I have a funny feeling that my router is faultly
Funny thing is though, this is the second one with the EXACT same fault (which is why I think it could be a problem at my end)

I'm using static IP's. I have not used the DHCP function, so can't comment on that. Sorry.

I'm using Static IP's also, but I'm getting disconnects ALL the time, sometimes the router will re-connect automatically, sometimes (more often than not) I have to power off the router for it to pick up the modem connection.

Is this something that COULD be caused with my settings?

Having no problems with mine, connected to NIC, not using static IPs AFAIK
Have you contacted Belkin support?

I have a Linksys not a Belkin & it works with "obtain IP automatically" & "enable DHCP server" - have you tried yours like that?

Yes - contacted belkin support, They were utterly useless (when asked how many connections the router supports I was told "lots"!!!)

Yes, set to obtain IP automatically and enable DHCP server still no joy.
Gonna get rid

My new Linksys Router arrived yesterday and was installed in 10 minutes with NO problems at all, it works properly with Emule and hasn't reset once (unlike the Belkin which was doing it every couple of hours).

The problem on the Belkin is caused by Emule, which, unless you restict your connections to 200 (or less) causes the Belkin router to crash. TBH I was glad to see the back of the bloody thing, Belkin's Tech support are useles and the hardware is just not suitable for my usage.

Bonzoe, I'll let you know what I'm going to do with it, I haven't decided yet

Don't do anything fancy on my setup, don't even know what emule is!
Must admit that Belkin router is pretty basic, but it suits me. Hope you have no trouble with your new router.
