Cyclic Redundancy Check
Hi,
A friend got himself a new Printer, a HP 5150. We installed it onto his PC today, the install appeared to work fine but when we try and print, we get the following error message.
Error printing to USB001
Data error (cyclic redundancy check)
I uninstalled the printer and reinstalled it again just to get the same message. Had a look on HP's website but couldn't find anything to do with this error.
His PC runs Win98SE
Anybody any ideas?
Thanks

Re: Cyclic Redundancy Check
CRC's are performed on the data travelling from the printer to the USB port, so it's possible you either have a duff USB port, a duff cable or a duff printer. If you haven't tried it already, you could always (even though it's not related to what I've just said) manually installing the latest drivers from HP's site

Re: Cyclic Redundancy Check
Yeah I though that, but I though if that was the case then would it have been able to install correctly? I mean during the install process it finds the printer and identifies it.

Re: Cyclic Redundancy Check
Hey,
I have the same problem with my HP 5150.
Did you solve the problem posted?
I have tried the different USB cables, and the problem still persists.
