Re: Networking

You just need use the same details on Outlook Express on the laptop as on the desktop.

Have a look at these links for info on creating an email account in Outlook Express:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/...on125121120120

http://www.webterrace.com/outlook/newaccount.htm

For the email address, you use the same email address you use with Outlook Express on the desktop.

For the username / account name, you use the same one as on the account on the desktop.

If the email address is an NTLWorld email address (e.g. user.name@ntlworld.com), then the email account name / username is the 1st part before the @ sign: e.g. user.name

[although with some other providers, you may have to use the full email address for the username / accountname]

Password...same as on the desktop's Outlook Express email account

pop3 server & smtp server: same as on the desktop's Outlook Express email account

And if it's NTLworld email:

pop3 server = pop.ntlworld.com

and smtp server = smtp.ntlworld.com

Once you have created the account in Outlook Express, if you want to set it to leave messages on the server (as SMHarman mentions here ), then you will need to do this after creating the account:

Go to "Tools" then "Accounts" in Outlook Express.

Click on the account name

Click on the "Advanced" tab

Tick "Leave a copy of messages on server"

Tick "Remove from server after [x] days", & input a number of days for the messages to be left.

Re: Networking

Just to add to what Tez has said: for instructions on how to setup outlook express for ntlworld email see www.ntlworld.com/help/setup

you will need to still follow Tez's advise from
