An Experiment??

I was wondering if people could help with a little experiment.
Altho I'm sure google gears it's results according to the users previous searches Im not sure how much the results are swayed.
If people could enter the same search query and then post the results back here, it would give some idea how different the results could be.

Search query to use 'purple people eater' (just of the top of me head) without quotes tho. On google.com not google.co.uk, please.

I think posting the link for the reasults will be enougth, (I assume the link will show the same results on another computer as on the original computer???)

I think we're going to find that all URL links for the results are the same aren't they?

I was thinking that too...

The only thing that changes for me is if you refresh the page it sometimes shows 62000 then 61500 as the result number.

Yes I wasnt too sure if that would be the case. Perhaps a screen shot like Timewarrior has done would give a more objective result.
TW's results in link and screen cap form are the same as mine.

Ahh thanks for helping. Not sure what to make of it tho. Suppose it means I can trust Im getting similar results to everyone else when I search.

Google is more based on the number of links a site has from other sites. Thats why so many sites have links pages now. Also why you can use sites like amazon and its list generator to abuse google.

It also knows the words on the page. Google has trouble indexing image pages.

President of the US and michael jackson come up with strange results because of this.

Yahoo and others rely(ed) more on meta tags
