Disc was Ok Now bad disc in DVD player !!!

Hi all

Couple of weeks ago I burnt a DVD using Movie factory 2 onto a Packard Bell DVD+RW.

Last week it played fine on my Cyberhome AD-L528 and no problems yesterday wanted to play it to friends and I got bad disc message.

Plays ok in my PC and other DVD play OK in the AD-L528.

Why is this disc now not playing in the AD-L528, what has changed ???

Regards

Hi,

So are you saying the DVD does not play in your AD-L528 anymore, but it used to? Seems odd. Is the disc clean and no scratches?

It is well known that not all DVD players will play all media.
I have some DVD's I burned a while ago, that do not work correctly on my parents Toshiba player. One of them it even ejects back out saying bad disk! They all play fine on my Pioneer, in fact, it's played everything I've ever thrown at it.

The meda you use plays a big part, and many say that meda made by Ritek is one of the best.
Goto http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk/ and look for disks that the ADVDINFO: is something like .RITEKG..XX where XX is a number, usually 03 or 04 these days.

Packard Bell media is junk (PC World specials), I have 6 PB DVD-RW's sitting here after 4 of them wouldn't burn properly, I'd recommend getting some decent Ritek DVD+R media and reburning.

Yep cheap DVD media can be very iffy. Also sometime's makes the dvd reader work allot hearder than it should have to (wear and tear).

correct, some media i bought once would work perfectly fine in my DVD player, yet in another player it would not work, after a while i tried it again in my DVD player and it would not load, if it did it was freezing and jumping..........

I think the words "Packard Bell" should be added to the profanity filter ...

Could well be the media you got, stick with the Ritek, never ever let me down, and great for the PS2 as well!

My DVD player is a Pioneer DV-525, must be 4 or 5 years old now. I think it's only ever not played one S-VCD. But every single DVD-R thrown at it works, even some that have not worked in 3 or 4 other players.
