Mandrake Linux 10?

Anyone else have any experience of this OS.

I have just upgraded from SuSE 9.0 and found it easy to install and like the 2.6 Kernel.

I'm downloading it as we speak

I plan to dual boot it on my laptop.

How much of a difference is it over Mandrake 9?

Re: Mandrake Linux 10?

Yeah I have it on one of mine machines and I like it. I've also just install Fedora test 2 also on the 2.6 kernel and apart from allowing me to create additional user accounts and then saying they can't log everything's running fine.

Major differences are 'under the bonnet' so to speak. The kernel is now from the 2.6.x series (2.6.3) instead of the 2.4.x series. Biggest visual difference is new version of KDE.

IMHO it runs faster on my machine (Athlon XP2400+) than SuSE 9 (also a 2.4.x kernel and similar to Mandrake 9).

Probably the best thing to do is to look for the May issue of Linux Format as it is on the coverdisk (DVD & CD versions)
