I bought it this afternoon. Not yet played it though as wifey was controlling the TV ("Dancing...with the Stars!").

Bit of an iffy review in EDGE (6/10 IIRC), but gamesTM gave it 8/10, while IGN & various others have been dishing out 9s.

I have. Had it since tuesday so finished the SP. I didnt like the SP at all to start with but as I played more it did grow on me. Fininshed the SP and think it was OK but not great.

Had my first online game lastnight co-op and it was alot of fun. Think thats this games saving grace. Have not tried competative online yet but hear its a bit hectic.

Dont know if its worth keeping as am not sure I'll play it after a couple online games tbh. Still undecided really.

I have heard from other people that the SP isn't too great at first but does get better & better.

The MP sounds awesome.

The co-op is a different campaign to the SP isn't it?

We should try & get a CF co-op game going, see who else here gets it.

Yeah I do agree the SP does get alot better as you go on but it still was not great.

Yes the Co-Op is big maps with missions to do on that map. Can also get hectic at times with 30-40 attacking Chimera at some points. Is awesome though and its very much based on Teamplay as if you run off alone your DEAD VERY FAST !

Really loving this, actually. Definitely gets better as you go along.

Still no Gears/Halo IMO, but it's still bloody great I think.

Love the set piece battles... the Chicago one was particularly awesome, when you face off against loads of Hybrids, then those big guys with shields, then THREE Stalkers plus loads more Hybrids.

Glad to hear your getting some enjoyment out of it Matt. As I said before it does get alot better the more you progress within the game and the Co-Op multiplayer seems really good to but it just was not good enough for me to want to keep it.

To be fair I had played Gears Of War 2 like 2 weeks before which is an awesome game but even then I didnt think that was massively better than the first. I felt it was on par with the first game. Dont get me wrong here its an awesome game but imho not better than the first but just as good. I know the MP was meant to be greatly improved but I didnt bother with it as am not really into shooters online on consoles I prefair to keep that to PC.

I finished the single player campaign this evening. Good stuff.

One issue I had with it is the story. Like Gears, it seems to pose a lot of questions but not give too many answers. Really could have done with more explanation of stuff...
