i bought a ps3 and want to connect it to the internet using an ethernet cable i bought. i've got a orange speedtouch connection modem so i can only connect the ethernet cable to the back of my pc. the ps3 still says i dont have a IP Address but i do!

You need to make sure you have internet sharing enabled on your PC to be able to do it this way. Also make sure your firewall is not blocking it if you have one.

I never managed to get internet connectio sharing working when I was a ps trialist. Adding wireless was the best thing playstation ever did in their development of ps3...
