Its the same difference. You dont buy the console to look at it. If they had dropped it to £350, they would still have to buy the games anyway. I dont see why people would think like this.

Re: No price cut for Euro PS3 console

Well, i'm fine with no price drop, i payed the full price, and so far ive had serveral months of enjoyment out of it.

I've also not move all my photos and music onto it, so i'm using it like a full entertainment system.

I've started getting everything on blu-ray instead of dvd when i buy now.

If you dont like the price, dont buy it, but boy quit moaning about it.

Hey, atleast sony haven't had to admit that ALL their PS3's are defective (mentioning no names like Microsoft's 360).

I suppose you get what you pay for

Lets face it, the PS was the console for 6 years, the PS2 was there for another 6 years. When you split the price over 6 years, its a lot less. Better than the 4 years we should expect from microsoft.

Because people do, they notice the base cost of the console and they do factor in games but they still prefer to be able to get the console. I mean, this presumes everyone wants the mentioned games and a controller. But maybe they want a different game and one control. Maybe they want to stagger their buying by getting the console and one game cheaply?

I agree with the first part. But when it comes to the 360, Sony would not admit to any problems and at least MS have. Also the lifespan of the console is always up in the air. PS3/360 will likely have a bigger lifespan due to the cost of developing for the systems.

Re: No price cut for Euro PS3 console

I havent even seen any reports of problems with the PS3, except that if you put one under a 360 you will kill the 360.

I think the 360 has more serious rivals than the PS2 did though

Re: No price cut for Euro PS3 console

Well I am going to get a PS3 tonight after work. The new bundle prices are too tempting

From Virgin a PS3, Extra controller and 3 games for £425. I also get 10% discount so £382.

That to me is great value. I still will buy most multiformat games for my 360 as I love playing games for the gamerscore

I have to admit the sub-£400 + games and control make it better to buy! I dont like any games for it at the moment though, other than MGS, and i am not buying a PS3 just for MGS

I will still be using my 360 more and buying most of the games for that.

I am only really getting one as my Credit Card limit was upped this morning so I thought why not

Means I will have every console and also the choice of Blu Ray and HD DVD now. So far all the HD DVDs I own are amazing.

Re: No price cut for Euro PS3 console

I bought a HD-DVD and thought it quite good. Then i realised i could flog it and get Sky HD instead off Ebay for only a little bit more and watch shedloads in HD.

If you take into account the amount i would have spent on HD-DVD's its probably cheaper, but the choice of HD programming now is so much better.

Drools at thought of Top Gear and hero's next week in HD...

Does the discount work for hardware and games?

Re: No price cut for Euro PS3 console

Well its a staff discount, but its 20% of games and 10% of hardware.

I have the V+ so I get BBC HD and I have bought most of my HD DVDs off ebay for around £11 each.
