which are best ??

I have got my NTL 2mb broadband connection booked in for sat 9th ,
I now need to get a router and adapter for the ps2 ,
the two routers Im looking at are both Linksys ,
WRT54G or WRT54GS
and for the adapter Im choosing between the Linksys
WGA54G gaming adapter , or the WET54G bridge .
I would really apprieciate it if anyone has any advice , or knows of the differences between them ,
Thanks , Tony .

Re: which are best ??

The WRT54GS is like the WRT54G, but with "Speedbooster". Both will be perfectly fine for the PS2 - & the WRT54GS's "speedbooster" won't make any difference for PS2 online gaming anyway.

The WGA54G & the WET54G... again, either will do. The "gaming adaptor" is more tailored for consoles, but the WET54G will do the job. I'd just get whichever is cheapest.

Re: which are best ??

Online gaming speed is constrained by the speed of your internet connection 2Mb download and 150k upload. So, even the slowest speed of wireless lan at 1Mb will exceed the upload speed.
So unless you are planning to use the wireless network to file and print share at home on a wireless PC network the speedboost is not necessary.

Re: which are best ??

Thanks , Ithink I will go for the speedboost anyway for futureproofing ,
One other question , does the wireless gaming adapter need any setting up with the ps2 (slimline) , or just with the router .
Thanks guys.
