nintendo DSi
I have a nintendo DSi which I used to be able to connect to the internet on. i beleive that they have a G router in them whereas my virgin router is an N router (I think I have tht the right way round!), however I cannot connect to the net on it anymore, nintendo don't know how to fix it - any ideas - it works fine in every other aspect apart form not connecting to the net for online playing

Re: nintendo DSi
got the right Wireless network and passphrase on it? Also which encryption method are you using? WPA/WPA2?

Re: nintendo DSi
Nintendo WiFi on DS only works on certain routers, what the criteria is I don't know.
The only DS game(s) that do work are Pokémon Black and White as the Nintendo WiFi used on them has some upgrade/addition so that it does work with most routers.

Re: nintendo DSi
Yes the wireless is all set up right - the problem occurred when I upgraded my BB to 50MB which also involved a changed of router to a N router. I can use it for non wifi games but there was one game I used to play loads which I cannot remember the name of but is similar to bejewelled, but never mind - will just have to stick to bejewelled on facebook!

Re: nintendo DSi
I'd guess that the router is using WPA or WPA2, while the games which won't work only support WEP (the DSi itself can use WPA or WPA2, but only for games which support it).

Re: nintendo DSi
I think that's it Matt, I guess the games I like don't support WEP then - didn't know games supported one or the other - is there a way to find out?

Re: nintendo DSi
I think most games probably only support WEP, sadly, although I'm not 100% sure.
Although the DSi supports WPA / WPA2, any game for the DS / DS Lite will only support WEP, because the DS / DS Lite only supported WEP.
Only software which supports WPA / WPA2 can use it on the DSi.
