Wii - SD CARD

Is there a way to make the Wii use the SD card as default storage for games / channels?

Also. What IS the maximum size SD card I can put in it. The people I got it from said it was 8gb. But of course that doesn't work, I've got a 1gb on there at the moment.

Cheers for your help,

Dilli - and mini-me

Re: Wii - SD CARD

the Wii can use SD Cards up to 2Gb , There was talk of them allowing stuff to run from Sd cards, but I've not seen anything since.

Edit: Extra info

Re: Wii - SD CARD

that will involve an update ive got all updates blocked but AFAIK if you run certain software it loads off the SD card anyway ie I installed the Sega Megadrive channel and play roms quite happily off the SD card. The update planned for spring appears to be for Wiiware and virtual console games ao if you ask me its a waste of time

Re: Wii - SD CARD

The new wii update (4.0) supports SDHC cards and launching of chanels from cards (not saved game data apparently).

More info on Menu 4.0 and other ninty news from GDC HERE

Including news on a new Zelda game for the DS, where Link is a guard (conductor. train manager, whatever they're called this week!) Sounds fun, making leaves on the line announcements and checking tickets of monsters travelling too early on a cheap saver ticket and having to kill them for it!!

Re: Wii - SD CARD

Apparently the twilight hack still works as long as it is installed prior to the update to 4
