HI can the wii play DVDS or if IT can't why not ? as my dvd player boke down or will i buy a new DVD PLAYER AND HOW MUTCH OR THE hd DAD payers?

It can, but has to be hacked to do so. Google for details...

Not easily. There are hacks about you can google for if you so desire as bmxbandit said.

You'd be better off buying a cheapo DVD player from tesco or asda.
