[Wii] Original Downloadable Content on Wii
source: http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/799/799824p1.html
Quote:
original downloadable games are heading to Wii thanks to the WiiWare Channel with the aim being to let developers both large and small distribute their titles on the service. Unfortunately, the bad news is that it's not launching until early 2008.
Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Amie explained that WiiWare is a chance for smaller and more creative games to be made available to Wii owners, with little or no risk to the developer. According to Nintendo the "remarkable motion controls will give birth to fresh takes on established genres, as well as original ideas that currently exist only in developers' minds".

Now all we need is a USB hard drive, and I'll be happy

... and a demo channel, so you can try before you buy, like with XBLA.
Good news, though

Re: [Wii] Original Downloadable Content on Wii
If you havent play Resident Evil 4, I seriously recommend you consider it. Its released tommorow. One of the best games I have ever played and I say this 2 years after I first played it. It really is a remarkible game, what all games should be about.
Also Super Paper Mario is out soon.

Two-player Donkey Konga when you've had a few beers is great too.
Admittedly it's a Gamecube title rather than a Wii one ...but it works on both anyway.
