Doom III on XBOX!

id's Doom 3 looks brilliant, sure, but we still don't know the half of what to expect from the title, and Activision is refusing to commit to a date for the game.

What we do know is that the game is set to appear on PC first, with Vicarious Visions' Xbox version arriving a few months afterwards. And speaking of VV, the developer has finally given away something new on what we can expect from the Xbox version of the game.

Interesting how they allow Doom III to be ported to Direct X 8.1 for the XBox but only use OpenGL on the PC with its annoying refresh rate problems.

The next issue of the Official Xbox Magazine (Issue 28) will be showing the 'First World-Exclusive Xbox Shots Of DOOM 3' according to their advert.

I thought it was using DX9 on the PC version?

edit: it is GL ugh, Carmac is such a tosspot

What I meant was Direct X 8.1 for the XBox, which it uses.
It has a modded GeForce 3 Ti500 FYI.

Whats wrong with using OpenGL, a open graphics format thats on linux and macs too?
Their getting it too so they want to make it as easy as possable to release on all 3.

Anyway.......... Not sure if a Co-Op mode is enough to convince me to get the xbox versuion though, may get both.
