Let it down in what way?

Re: Halo 2 - Release Date 25th June

Well the kudos system and the online ranking was a great idea, but thats all online was about. After some bugs were found on the single player, some of the online tables are basically null and void now. I would have loved the odd championship mode in there such as the best overall kudos over 4 races. May sound a bit flat but it used to be a laugh on MotoGP2

Also I reckon with a bit of thought they could have had some multiplayer cone challenges. Straight away you're probably thinking all the cones would get knocked over by the guy in front but I reckon for the multiplayer challenge they could substitute the cones for "ghost" cones, or even just some LEDs on the floor to try to keep in.

Anyway enough of my mad ideas. I just think there was a lot of potential in the online side and it wasn't exploited.

I can't see me trading it in though

PGR2 Live- Is it really that popular?

I've just started playing PGR2 on Live and have found that it seems to be lacking when it comes to other players. Where is everybody? I normally play after 10 at night and I'm lucky if there are more than more playing in a room at anyone time. Thats using the quickmatch settings, as for the optimatch that a complete waste of time, I rarely see a game with more than two.

Is this normal, or has PGR2 been over hyped or are players bored with it already?

Re: PGR2 Live- Is it really that popular?

The offline sid of prg2 is better than the online version, as far as I can tell.

BUT, the online play is still great fun ONLY when you are in a good crowd. I would advise you to add a few of the nthw gamers gamertags into your friends list and have a few games with us!

Check out the GamerTag thread and also add mine:

I played it to death when it first came out so haven't been playing it for a while. I'm concentrating on finishing GTA Vice City at the moment.

PGR2 is a great game on Live though and good fun when you get a few friends together. I'm sure when new cars/tracks come it you'll see a lot more people on it again.

Played PGR2 to death. Once you get most of the cars, the challenge pretty much fades. It's still the best racer on the Xbox and on Live, but there are too many other games that I want to play both on- and off-line.

I agree that playing in a crowd you know helps out a lot. I've played with the NTLW gamers before now and I didn't want to stop. But on your own, looking for a game can be a pain especially if you get a room of "shouters"

I agree, with this, and most of your earlier points Ricky. (A championship mode definately would have been a good idea)

There are always ways to evolve these Live games - and I expect as we move forward (and new games come out), more and more options will get added.

I admit I was rather dissapointed that alot of the Live challenges, seem to be based around Kudos rather than lap times, but at least they have a few in there. However I still think it's the best Live enabled Car Racing game out there, and still enjoy play it! (Just think - PGR2 could have been as bad as Sega GT On-line). - Oh god - I've probably opened up another flame-fest!

Re: PGR2 Live- Is it really that popular?

Without a doubt, it IS the best online racer and I reckon it will only be surpassed by PGR3

BTW A little bird tells me there could be some DLC by the end of March. I hear its some cars and two Cities, one being Paris however we will have to pay.

(Well worth it!)

Re: PGR2 Live- Is it really that popular?

I agree to what boom said it pretty much fades away after awhile.Yeah it's the best racer on xbox live but there is no challenge to it what so ever and thats why i don't play it anymore,This game should have been better IMO.
Once you have all the cars and tracks unlocked what else is there really to make you carry on playing PGR2.I do think this game was over hyped and yes it do'es look good and plays well but thats it and its not enough to hold my attention.

Re: PGR2 Live- Is it really that popular?

snds like silly hype!

Did you hear that the Xbox 2 is going to be a super computer that will actually project 3D games into your living room, they'll also be an adapter that will use additional HUMAN processing power if the Xbox 2 super computer runs out of processing speed!

Saying that they'll probably just cancel the idea, once we're all hyped up sufficiently to make us buy the thing!!! :pp
