No apparantly not, it has to be the Xbox 360 wireless adapter.

Only the Official Xbox 360 Wireless Adaptor can connect through the USB port. Other brands have to connect through the Ethernet port.

You might be able to do if you set it up via your computer first. I'm not sure how this is done but i've been told it's possible.
