It says...

In order for Winners to be notified, they must have opted in to receive marketing communications from Xbox**.

** Amend your opt-in options by ticking the "Check this box if you would like to receive marketing mails, promotional offers, and the xbox.com newsletter" box at http://live.xbox.com/en-GB/profile/profile.aspx.

Then the only options i can see are:-

Check this box if you'd want insider information from Microsoft.

Check this box if you'd like to share your information with our 3rd party partners.

Does that mean you would need to tick both? I mean the Microsoft one im Okay with but the other option scares me. Besides, what it tells you to do is different from what available as far as i can tell.

It is un-clear as you've pointed out. I think M$ want you to opt in for the xbox newsletter and communication's from them first and foremost.

I've got tick's in both boxes, so far nothing nasty has happend as reguard to unwanted emails etc.
