DNS cannot be reached

when i try signing up for Xbox live it wont work but it say
Cables Connected,
IP address are right
then it say the DNS server cannot be reached...etc,

I am using a ADSL SparkCom Modem Router.

Any help will be thanked,

*Someone has said I need to enable Universal Plugin n Play* so if anyone can tell me how to do that I will also be greatfull
