Router trouble with internet!

Unhappy Router trouble with internet!

I want to get xbox live so i got the wireless connection adapter for the xbox 360, then I had to get a wireless router attached between the modem and the pc for the xbox to connect to. Anyway my problem is when I connect the router to the modem and the pc, the internet doesnt work. I've conneted it correctly and the router sopports the internet im on. Someone please help me, any suggestions?

First thing to do when you connect up the router is turn the power off to your modem.

I found that when you initialy set up you're wireless router you should have it wired to your PC at first when setting it up.
