A friend of mine has had the dashboard for a few weeks but thinks its a step back from the previous incarnation.

The apps do look very promising though.

I've had it a while too.
It looks and feels much more up to date. Metro style is great.
Cloud is going to be so handy.

Microsoft are making all their GUI look similar. I do like the new look but I have kinect so it will make it a lot easier to move round.

You will, it's just treated as another storage method.
Gets quite annoying when you start a game and you have to choose a storage device everytime.

Notifications are a bit much too, everytime you start a game it tells you that so many people play this game ...as well as telling you how many are currently playing it.

We've purchased one for Christmas with Kinect , looking forward to it we already have a PS3.

I've had the new dash since the preview started (no TV apps in it though, other than Sky). I think it's a lot better than the current "NXE".

I hope they've upped their bitrates. Everybody I know who has used Lovefilm's streaming service (mostly people with PS3s, but also someone with a "connected" Blu-ray player with Lovefilm built-in) thinks it's a load of crap

I would agree with that we used it on our PS3 and it was very poor.

There is no doubt that it looks great (I use a Windows Phone and its great on there) but it seems more complicated to reach things than it used to be. Maybe if I had a Kinect I wouldn't feel the same but they're still a little too expensive for my liking.
