Ah, screw it. I've just ordered it. If I wait, it will just end up clashing with Batman Arkham City / Halo Anniversary / Uncharted 3.
Can't be bothered with midnight launches anymore. I went to the one for Halo 3, and the one for Modern Warfare 2.
Then again, if there's a midnight launch for Mass Effect 3, I think I'd have to go to that...
I'll be up for co-op & MP. Conveniently, I have a week off work from Thursday next week 'till the following Wednesday. Won't be around next Friday though as I'm going to the Eurogamer Expo.

Annoyingly, though, I won't be able to play online during the day while I'm off for the next week. Mrs D works from home now, and wouldn't appreciate me using the headset while she's trying to work. I can play while she's working, but just singleplayer with the headphones on, lol.
Well after having the ending spoiled way back by the guy that stole the game from EPIC it seems the story has been changed since which I suppose is good news.
For those that didnt see the leak or havent completed the game I suppose it makes no difference if I just say nothing

I finished the campaign a couple of days ago. Loved it - totally awesome
My only real niggles were story related (but even so, the story sucked far far less than the story of the previous ones):
- Some characters and events could have been fleshed out a lot better. Not everyone will have read the three books set between Gears 2 & Gears 3... I ended up reading Wikipedia to find about more about Sam and about what happened between the games.
- WTF is the deal with...

Oh, I definitely want to play some MP and co-op.
It's finished as expected like that and sets up the chance for a prequel. They will pull the HALO move of jumping on a few spinoff's before doing number 4 with a new trilogy.

Unfortunately EPIC had to change a Main part of the story. That was that Marcus was supposed to Die and not Dom, A leak inside EPIC meant this could be changed before release and as such removed all content from the Internet showing the original death scene. Whoever didn't see Adam Fenix's involvement with the Locust Queen needs to be slapped :P Although it leaves the following question. Why would he develop a bomb intended for the Lambent only...Adam had been in contact with Myyrah to try to stave off the effects on the Locust and to discover a cure that would not harm them, but could not find it in time < Before Emergence Day This paves the way for something to explain Adam Fenix's true relationship with the Queen which I personally believe was Marcus's mother

Oh, I got that Myrrah knew Adam back in Gears 2, and I know that Gears 3 showed that Adam knew of the Locust, and knew Myrrah herself, five years before E-Day, and had been trying to find a cure for Imulsion before E-Day, trying to persuade Myrrah not to leave for the surface, etc. etc. etc.
But, what has never been explained is:
- How Adam knew of the Locust before E-Day.
- How Adam knew Myrrah before E-Day.
And the big one...
- WTF did Myrrah look and sound human, instead of Locust?
The game teased us with this, but never gave any answers.

I did actually wonder about whether it would be revealed that Myrrah was Marcus' mother, and wouldn't have been surprised if we'd had something like this
Myrrah - Adam never told you the truth about your mother.
Marcus - He told me you killed her!
Myrrah - No, Marcus, I am your mother!
Marcus - Noooooooooooo!
But if Myrrah was his mother, wouldn't he have recognised her? And, whether she was his mother or not, it still wouldn't explain why she looked human.
