Question XBOX LIve Connection Failed Recently

Hi all,

Until recently I have had a really good reliable xbox live connection with three xbox's in the house all on "auto" two wire less one wired to a Netgear Router and the old Blue NTL Modem. Domestic internet works well on laptops, WII and DSi

Now recently something changed. I Know I have not fiddled with router settings so either Microsoft or Virgin have changed something? Could it be to do with the config changes for the 1Mb upload increase?

I have had MTU Errors but that is and has always been set to 1500?

Ports are opened, any thoughts? The web works really well the only issues I seem to have are xbox related. if I use the xbox live website I am unable to grant points for example; I juist get a a generic action could not be completed error?

Any thoughts?

Confused of Warrington

Re: XBOX LIve Connection Failed Recently

p2p management between 5pm and midnight weekdays, and midday to midnight weekends is causing havoc for xbox live and call of duty

see the VM forums here:

Re: XBOX LIve Connection Failed Recently

Ok Done a ton of reading recently. now although my setup used to work my router is not on the Live compatibility list......

Is it worth getting a compatible one? Or is the VM issue totally knackering all live connectivity/

Re: XBOX LIve Connection Failed Recently

OK update.....

The Account Points transfer issue was because I had two credit cards listed on my account and one had expired. This apparently blocks certain account functions but not all and the error message is a not very helpfull 8007000B.

Any ways a new Linksys Router, upgraded security, tweaked firewall settings and a cleaned up account and we have three XBox's on line just fine..
