When I moved from a Premium to an Elite, I used a Memory Unit to transfer my saves, & just re-downloaded all my DLC etc.
This time, I'll use a USB stick instead.
I think there are some games which have saves that can't be copied, but I don't think there are many, & I know they're not any of the games I have.

Doubt it. Mine was manufactured in September too, and I purchased it earlier this year. It worked fine for the first month or so, then I started getting the 'open tray' error that's becoming increasingly more common.
It's been about four months now, and it's just started RROD-ing me. This is the third 360 I've had and it's getting ridiculous now -- they've been fine with the warranty and everything else, but it's so annoying having to trade the console again and again.

But the console is smaller and quieter
I am sure he knows the console is still a 360 and not any different.

Re: E3 2010: New Slimline Xbox360
I am sure he knows but its just the excitement lol mind you it could be his first 360. I am considering it but dunno yet
I got a fat ps3 which is quite loud but I never notice it when I play a game or watch any media. Also I spend no time at all looking at thinking "oh I wish I had a smaller model"

Re: E3 2010: New Slimline Xbox360
I'm picking mine up in person at GAME on Friday (trading in my Elite).
---------- Post added at 23:27 ---------- Previous post was at 23:24 ----------
Oh, & re transferring content:
Having tried the new USB memory support, I don't see *any* point in paying for a transfer cable if anyone does not already have one.
Just plug in a USB HDD or flash drive, configure it for 360 storage, & there you go... Easy option to "Transfer content" from the 360's HDD to the USB device, ready for then transferring onto the Slim.
Much easier than the old method of copying each thing individually onto a "Memory Unit". Plus, with 16GB allowed, you can transfer pretty much everything bar your disc installs. All my saves + XBLA games + DLC etc. comes to around 9GB.

Re: E3 2010: New Slimline Xbox360
you can redownload the XBLA games and DLC, and I think you have to after transfering any content licences if you want to play them offline

Re: E3 2010: New Slimline Xbox360
Got my Slim today. All set up now, & I'm currently installing game discs to the HDD.
Noticeably (but not massively) smaller than the previous models, & definitely quieter (no more jet engine or gronking).
Shiny black of course, however, so it'll be a dust & print magnet like the PS3...

The new USB Storage method though is much easier...For the Slim, I was able to transfer *everything* bar the retail game installs, all in one go (unlike with the MU, which only had space for saves, & were you had to copy each item individually).
