MW2 controllers "rapid fire"?

I was searching Ebay, looking for a 360 controller cover / new controller in camoflage colours etc.. for my son, I came across lots of people selling coloured controllers but modified as "rapid fire"...offering some sort of chip installed which apparently improve the game / cheat ??

Does anybody use one of these, can enlighten me further....are they allowed ?

I really just want a new controller that looks smart..camo colours or MW2 branded type of thing.

Thanks

Re: MW2 controllers "rapid fire" ??

Nope, I don't think those rapid controllers are allowed because it increases the speed in which your gun fires bullets. It makes something like a sniper fire like an assault rifle.

Re: MW2 controllers "rapid fire"?

You can buy one just don't turn the rapid fire on or don't tell your son he has that option.

Re: MW2 controllers "rapid fire"?

They're not against the terms of Xbox Live, but the game publisher may have them on it's list of bannable hardware items. i.e. Playing with them on MW2 may get you banned from MW2, but not from Xbox Live.

Re: MW2 controllers "rapid fire"?

Having used rapid fire controllers (in the past), and made numerous for family and friends, they don't give the advantage you might think, they an awful lot of recoil, which most of the time makes you miss.

Some weapons (FAL), respond quite well to rapid fire controllers, as do some pistols but on the whole theyre not really worth the extra wonga.

If you fancy a go of one, just buy one of the kits and D-I-Y on an old controller, thats what I did, its just a novelty thing that soon wears off, or becomes useless if the game developers make a patch for it.

I tried my old RF controller the other day just to see how it behaved, and it was shocking.

The game restricted the rapid fire mod to the point I could fire faster by hand (the normal way).

So they,re good for a giggle with your mates in a private match, but not worth paying top money for when you can do it yourself for a few quid.
