My sons HDD on his 360 failed ,he has a new drive but he is having a problem getting his gamer tag back.The problem is that it has been that long since he set it up he has forgot his account details.
Is there anyone at Microsoft he can contact to get his tag back or is the info on the old drive and will he have to set up a new tag?.
P.S I dont know a thing about Xbox's.
Was it a gold or silver account, and did he ever connect online?
If he did use it online, the achievements and friends will still be on the MS server and there is a recover lost GT facility.
But he will need to know the linked email and password.
If you go to xbox.com, there should be a way to reset the password if he knows the email and GT - it will be the email account that gets 'spam' from XBox Live.
Of course if it never went online, then it is lost
Gold account I think ,to early to ask him.
If he spoke to any of his friends on that account in the past he might be able to get his email add from them and then reset it online.
