Xbox 360 Arcade console to increase in price from 1st September
Eurogamer are reporting they have received news from retailers that Microsoft plan to increase the price of the Arcade 360 from £129.99 to £159.99, starting 1st September 2009. The five XBLA games will no longer be included in the bundle, either.
There has been no mention of the Premium being increased which fuels rumours that the Premium will be getting discontinued, leaving just the arcade and Elite models.

I can't remember where I read it but I am sure I heard that the Premium is getting removed.

Strange move I have to say. Then again it's probably just a markiting ploy so in a couple months they can say "look another xbox price cut" I would amagine this would be to do with all the PS3 Slim rumours flying around with the news of a price cut to. Cant wait for the news comming out of Gamescom tomorrow

It does seem odd that they would increase the price of the basic unit, and remove the games included with that package as it is at present.
Do you think they could they be re-releasing the current pro model as the Arcade version? That way any new machines sold will have a hdd, with the recently added functionality a Hdd less model does seem a little out of sorts with where they're trying to take it.

Its always possible. I read somewere yesterday that they were going to announce a price cut to the Elite version so I guess its just a wait and see case atm.

Currently looking a 360, really struggling to find one in stock. Asda, Tesco, Currys seem out of stock of the 60Gb model, Arcade and Elite still available though.
