Alan Wake to be only realeased on Xbox360?
Apparently Remedy Entertainment have said they are concentrating development efforts on the Xbox 360 version of Alan Wake and that other versions are "up in the air"..
Lead writer Sam Lake said ""We are fully concentrated on the Xbox 360 version. Other than that the plans are up in the air and open. Once we get this version done we'll see,"

That's crazy!
Honestly, weren't they pushing the PC's to the absolute limit with quad core and Phys-X? The graphics looked immense... Not to mention the gameplay they demo'd. :O
Well, here's hoping the X360 version is good.

what they really mean is they are so far behind shedual and do not have the funds to pay all the coders and testers that they need to get something solid launched quick smart or go the way of Duke Nukem

Well, it *is* being funded and published by Microsoft, so I doubt that lack of funds is an issue.

It is when they need to make a profit off of it. M$ could keep funding it for years but thats no good if when its realeased it does not make that money back. It's already been in development for some time now and I amagine its already pushing up the cost's past original predictions.
Add that to the fact the 360 used most of its Exclusives last year and this move makes perfect sense. They will release a PC version after to make more money.

True, but while they've been careful recently, Microsoft have been known to take awfully large losses if they think they can make a profit at the end.. Admittedly, it's hard to see how a single game would make that much money, but if they are trying to establish a franchise.
Having said that, it sounds like they are having at the very least issues with resources..

Re: Alan Wake to be only realeased on Xbox360?
The game is now officially a 360 exclusive
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/gaming/a...exclusive.html
Quote:
Remedy Entertainment has revealed that the Alan Wake project is now an Xbox 360 exclusive - as the PC version has been shelved indefinitely.
"Our PC plans are currently open [and] therefore a joint PC/Xbox launch is not possible at this late stage," said the representative.
