Console crisis! What's wrong with me?
So my Xbox 360 broke down a few weeks ago, E74 error, for your information.
So I sent it back to Microsoft. Now, I thought, this gives me a good opportunity to play some of my old favourites on the original Xbox, so down it came from the high shelf where it had been collecting dust for the past 8 or 9 months.
Capcom Classics, Fight Night Round 2, Final Fight Streetwise, then probably my fav of all time, Pro Evolution soccer 5. A game in which I took my AC Milan team through to 2022. Instantly I was engrossed in my old team, digital friends who had shared many succsesses with me. I was hooked again.
Only problem came earlier today, when UPS returned my 360, repaired and ready to take its place hooked up to the my YPbPr connection. I thought I'd be ripping it out of the box hastely, to get back to hidef graphics, wireless control pads, and online gaming, but two and a half hours on, and it still sits in its package, back from it's European expidition.
Now, when I go to play Pro Evo 5, it's tainted, knowing that the 360 is waiting for me to aknowledge it.
Wanna know what would make my life complete? Being able to transfer info on the original xbox, to the 360. As far as I know, not possible.
So for now, I will try and resist the law of nature, the 'out with the old, in with the new', rule which urges me to play the 360 'cos it's more expensive, newer, and state of the art. Knowing full well that the box is waiting to be opened, and my old friends will be sent back to limbo, never knowing if they would overthrow Juventus at the top of the league, and trounce the opposition in the WEFA championship.
Unless I fall victom to the Red Ring Of Death...
