Spec for XBox360 LCD TV?
My daughter has really turned her life around despite her handicaps, so I want to treat her to a decent LCD TV for her XBox360 as the present 15" TV is next to hopeless for gaming.
What sort of spec should I seek out? Any particular models or brands? Price is not that much of a problem, but sub-£500 wouldn't make me squeal too much.
It looks like a 32" model would be really nice.

I have a 32" Sony Bravia just to play my Xbox on. Think that was about £500.

I have a 26" Samsung hooked to my 360 - look for something with 1080p now - maybe this, just over £500.

Re: Spec for XBox360 LCD TV?
I suggest either a Samsung or a Toshiba 32" would be sub 500 and would be great for her to take her gaming to the next level!
Have a look on Amazon/Currys/Comet to see the specs and rough prices and then do a search to see if you can get it cheaper.
I'd recommend you look for one with a VGA/HDMI connection. How old is her xbox 360? If it was bought in the last year or so, it's likely to have an HDMI connection on the back. Check it looks like this picture to see if it has HDMI.

Re: Spec for XBox360 LCD TV?
If it's not got a HMDI port on it 1080p is a bit of a waste of time imho. That said it will probably be anyways thesedays so there's not much point worrying. I recomend any of the LG or Panasonic range. If it is HDMI get one with more than one HDMI port on the tv. Again this shouldn't be a problem (3 seems the norm now) but it's a pain in the backside switching cables for those of us ones that haven't.

Not a waste of time if it doesn't have an HDMI port because if the tv has a VGA input then that's just as good as HDMI and also lets you play upscaled dvds.
You can also use 1080p via the supplied component leads that come with the premium and the picture looks excellent at 1080P, although you can't watch upscaled dvds with it.

Decide what size screen you want. My guess is a 32in will be fine for her. I recommend either a Sony or a Sumsung that are capable of displaying 1080P, with a VGA and HDMI connection.

Re: Spec for XBox360 LCD TV?
Just had a look at what Tesco has to offer... some nice ones there, but more expensive than online elsewhere of course.
This one at Play.com looks the biz so far (though it is out of stock)

3 years warranty too!

Thats only 1080i and not 1080P, if you can find a 1080P then go for that.

Re: Spec for XBox360 LCD TV?
I'm not so sure there'd be much point in getting a 1080p set if you're going for 32" though... unless the viewing distance is quite small...
