Suspended from xbl

My Credit card registered on XBL had expired so of course when it went to renew my subscription it failed.

They suspsended my account for it

Only option it then gives is to renew the 12month subscription

Phoned them up and it's sorted now, told them I was going to get a voucher and they changed it from suspsended to expired, which then let me go in and select XBL silver.

Not sure If I will renew it depend if I want to play anyone online (probably will), all I really wanted was to get it unsuspended so I could download updates to games and demos.etc

Since it's paid in advance you'd think if the payment fails they'd just swtich it to silver or something not totally suspend the account

Let this be a warning to anyone else who's account is up for renewall soon, you need to either update your credit card or get it set to silver or it will just get suspended

No problem and to be fair to them they were very good about it.

If I'd have known it would have been totally suspended i'd have done something about it. It ran out in Nov it's just this was the first time since I've actually turned my xbox on

My housemate has GOW2 and Resistance2 (Even though he doesn't actually have a ps3

) and i've not actually gotten around to playing either yet.

Both sequals imo were not any better than the original. Gow2 was on par with the original. Resistance 2 was poorer than the original but an ok game once you get into it.

GOW2 is much better than Resistance 2 though but I still dont think better than GOW1.

Hope that makes sense lol.

Seems harsh perticullarly as there doesn't seem to be any easy way not to make it auto renew

There isn't. You can't remove your card details, which I find absolutely pathetic.

My renewal is about due anytime, I payed by credit card through the Xbox and its still got my number. My question is, if I just leave it will they automatically charge me for a another year, as the card doesn't expire until 11/09, or will I too get suspended?

It will charge you for another year, I think it's Â£40.

You should be able to change it to monthly billing or if it's not to close too your renewal just call them and cancel it.

Personally if I renew mine again i'll probably get a pre-paid card from somewhere as places like play.com often sell them cheaper than it costs to renew directly on xbl itself

i paid for my first year account throu a m8s cc, as i didnt have one at the time. never been able to recover orig tag. but i can post in the xbox forums under tag. all good. BB
