Xbox live downtime
For 24 hours starting 9am [10am CET] on September 29th you’ll notice that your Xbox LIVE service is temporarily unavailable. This is, in fact, terrific news!

Re: Xbox live downtime
Yeah, I saw that on Dashboard yesterday. It doesn't bother me since I don't have an ethernet cable for the 360.

Re: Xbox live downtime
The new dashboard should be with us sometime in November.
See here for news:- http://www.computerandvideogames.com....php?id=197874

A Rock Band 2 advert that has been beamed out to the dashboards of Xbox 360 owners in the US says the new Xbox Experience dashboard will be released in November. Who are we to complain?
The redesigned 360 dashboard adds Avatars, a save games to hard disk feature, massively-multiplayer Prime Time games, in-game Guide and it looks much, much prettier.

Which is no bad thing really. Even if people don't like the new dashboard (and why not?) they can still revert back to the old system.

If you want to keep the current format of the 'blades' and gamer picture instead of the 3d avatar you can according to MS, unless they've changed their minds??

They mean that while you will have to upgrade to the new dashboard, the new guide will have all the functionality of the current dashboard so you can use that to your hearts content.
