Xbox Live

Hi,

We can get on to Xbox Live but only by using the Ethernet cable. We have a wireless network adapter but it still not picking up the router when it tells you to take out the cable.

Is there something we are doing wrong or is it our router. We have a NetGear 54 Mbps but for some reason it just cant pick it up.

Please help

Lee

Re: Xbox Live

Hi, not sure in that router, but would.

Check if any security is setup on router, open router in IE and log into it to see, test secirty off, but make sure to put back on again.

Check is any settings in router for Xbox support, try enable this

Check that up put all you numbers WPA and ssid info in correctly, maybe redo it.

Check if a computer can wireless access it, if you have one, or psp.

Last resourt**DO THIS ON WIRED CONNECTION ONLY**** update the FIRMWARE (log into router-check on the info page of router-what version of firmware, then check manufacter webpage for what version is released, see what FIXs are implemented), this is probally the cause, as router you have may off been made 4 months ago and they release updates to fix things.

Hope this helps.

The SSID may be hidden, check on the router settings usually type in 192.168.0.1 on your browser and user is admin and password is password.
