Question Xbox 360 Help

Hi
Ive recently brought an xbox 360 elite, havent plugged it in yet its for xmas. I have an NTL cable modem (its always on and broadband) my pc internet runs from the usb port in the modem, therefore there is an ethernet port free. Could i plug my xbox 360 ethernet cable straight into this port and get internet access from my xbox 360. If yes - would i be able to use the pc on the internet and go on xbox live at the same time? Thanks guys.

Re: Xbox 360 Help

no you can't use the usb and e-net ports at the same time , you can use connection sharing from your pc to the 360 which would mean you can use both pc and 360 at the same time (that would be impressive) , otherwise (your best bet imo) you need a router becasue its a bit of a pain having to have the pc on at the same time as the 360 if you want to play online

Re: Xbox 360 Help

Be careful with ics because you are essentially turning your PC into a server and if it isn't very powerful you will get slowdown, and possibly some connection problems with xbox live.. I would personally get a router and wireless adaptor for the xbox and run it wirelessly with the PC on ethernet.
