Re: Microsoft & Toshiba Developing New Xbox
There releasing way to many versions now and if this is true then its an attempt to try and do what Sony did with the PS3 in having an "all-in-one" which so far has not worked! Nice to have the option I suppose but don't think it would be a success

Re: Microsoft & Toshiba Developing New Xbox
Personally i dont see the point because:
a) Many HDTV's you can get with Freeview, and HD Tuners built in
b) You can purchase the HD DVD drive from Game for £179.99 as many people have already done.
c) You can connect an MP3 Player/iPod to the 360 via USB Cable
d) users can also upgrade from the current 20GB Drive, which is supplied with all premiums to the 120GB Drive, so i dont think an even bigger HDD is needed.

I wouldn't be surprised if this became the standard SKU by Christmas 2008

Re: Microsoft & Toshiba Developing New Xbox
El Reg are speculating that the product is likely to be marketed by Toshiba (thereby maybe getting past the Japanese problem with Microsoft), and that, possibly, the whole shebang will be built into a HDTV. Just imagine. One box capable of showing Freeview, HD DVD, Xbox and Standard Def TV with only a couple of extra cables.
If it takes off, I can see Sony merging the PS3 with one of their HDTVs.
