Sharing Music with the Xbox 360
Ok, with the music in WMP 11 that i have on my PC i want to be able to share it with the 360 Wirelessly. First of all can it be done, and second of all i went to media sharing and ticked the box, waited, but my 360 didn't show up in the devices.

Re: Sharing Music with the Xbox 360
It can be done, it could well be your firewall - check to make sure you open it up and allow you Xbox in to your PC.
You may also want to have a look at http://tversity.com/ for a media server with will also play back your DiVX stuff and transcode on the fly.

Re: Sharing Music with the Xbox 360
I noticed on the 360 setup screens, it gave me various ports, TCP & UDP, if i open these ports am i putting my PC at risk of getting hacked?

I would just open up your firewall to the MAC address of the Xbox 360.
Somebody could theoretically spoof the MAC address of the 360, but if they are that desperate to get into your system then they will probably find a way in anyway.

Don,t quote me but I think you need to have windows media centre runing to share with the 360.

Re: Sharing Music with the Xbox 360
Streaming from the PC to the 360 requires two other services to be running on the PC, as well as the WM Sharing Service -
Make sure that "SSDP Discovery Service" & "Universal Plug 'n' Play Device Host" are both enabled & Automatic.
[Start> Run > "services.msc" -or- Control Panel > Admin Tools > Services]
Your router also needs to have UPnP enabled.

Not anymore.
WMP can share music & WMVs, as can other UPnP Media Servers such as TVersity.

Enabled all those services plus UPnP on my router, and the 360 doesn't show up in the media sharing devices box.

I just have XP without any media centre stuff installed or running. Streaming pics and mp3's is fine. Videos is crap purely cause the 360 does not stream divx/xvid/mpegs

Re: Sharing Music with the Xbox 360
I found the problem: Firewall. I use Comodo, but trouble is i don't know how to configure it properly to stream media from my PC to my 360 without disabling it.

Re: Sharing Music with the Xbox 360
Arrragh, done the above as TheBlueRaja provided in the link and although WMP 11 See's my 360, my 360 doesn't see my PC.
