Re: Buying Crackdown to get the Halo 3 Beta invite?
As i'm not able to play the game from hard disk due to a fault, i have to use a memory card. But the play now co op is ghosted out which is a pain. I'll double check next week with my friends hard disk to see if the game really does work from hard disk and it's not my console with a fault before i decided whether to buy a new HDD or not. I'd really like to wait for a larger drive to arrive before i do though.

Whats up with the graphics? I think they look fantastic. Just because they haven't gone for total realism but for a stylised animated look doesn't make it look bad, it still looks like a 360 game. Also it looks fab on my HDTV.
I'll be up for trying co-op sometime.

I suppose I'm used to being spoilt by the likes of GRAW and the cartoony-ish nature of the graphics in crackdown just don't really sit well with me... I just expected better this far into the lifecycle of the console. Was also hopeful that there would be some sort of split-screen co-op but this doesn't seem to be the case

Online play is where this game excels. Its free roaming, do what you like, when you like, how you like and with a friend its x2 the fun. For example, throw a body into the air and fire rockets at it - see how long you can keep the burning corpse in the air. Set up races - either vehicles or running and jumping across sky-scraper roof tops (you need to build your stats for this to make it as much fun as possible). Overall its a game where you can make your own fun its only limit is your imagination and while you're at it complete the challenges of bringing down all the rival gangs. There's plenty of different weapons to collect and when you max out your stats the vehicles are awesome, trust me!
edit* the game is a 'no-brainer' but thats what makes it a hoot!

It still has next gen qualities, for example the lighting and smoke/explosions. The cartoony look suits the game well, and over all it has a lot of detail and does look worthy of a 360 game. There is a lot more to the graphics, for example the amazing draw distance is once thing thats fab as well the the fun of being able to go absolutly anywhere within the world.

I used to be able to do it, but i tried that method and it doesn't work now.
The fact is my drive won't play the dead rising demo and it won't play the Crackdown demo or the full game. Everything else seems to work.

Re: Buying Crackdown to get the Halo 3 Beta invite?
The graphics are actually quite good and demanding, just go and stand on top of one of the big towers and then be amused when you can see one of the cars you trashed floating in the water in the distance. In any given game play it will remember whats happend on the entire map (like when my car is trashed by a rocket when i go back to try again the shell of my car is there)
and yes build up your stats, agility is a good one to get (picking off enemies from up high as well as collecting the green things) and so is stregnth (killing by fist fighting is the quickest way to build that up).
I found out quite late in the game that increasing stregnth increases your endurance by upto 4x.

Re: Buying Crackdown to get the Halo 3 Beta invite?
I played it for about an hour again earlier and built some of my stats up. It's slowly starting to grow on me.. still not sure it's my cup of tea but I'll persevere and maybe try the online co-op. It really is a shame there's no local split screen play though.

I completed the game last night, well eliminating all the gangs. Still got quite a few of the achievements to get but the longevity of the game is brought into question. I'll keep going until boredom sets in or the Halo3 beta becomes available. Still a good game though.

Having built my stats up a fair bit it's so side-splittingly funny it still hurts the morning after
