Router Help!

Hi....This is my first post here so many thanks for any help I get.

I have a 10mg NTL broadband connection runnning through a NTL:250 cable modem.
The router I use is a WRT54G V1.1. Latest firmware applied.
My Xbox 360 is hardwired & a have assigned a static IP address & set a DMZ on that. NAT is open.

My problem is when joining large lobby's of 12 or more....RB6...COD3...I often suffer from lag & comms problems. Chromehounds was the same.

I can happily host 16 plus in PDZ & full lobbies on GOW but when trying to host a RB6 game, everyone gets lag city! (Note: no other PC's connected to my network are switched on)

I initially put it down to the games but know others with a slower connection who can host/play in large lobby's without any lag at all.

All help gratefully received!

Re: Router Help!

Have you tried with the 360 directly connected to the SACM to rule out any problems with the router's CPU or code going pear shaped?

fwiw - I have the same modem as you and the same thing happens with me on Test drive. As soon as you hit about 30KB/sec upstream the whole internet connection falls over in spectacular fashion. I can only conclude that either the NTL250 is bobbins or something is misconfigured on the network.

Re: Router Help!

I do need to try connecting directly to the SACM although had the same problem when my connection ran through the set top box which made me conclude that it was the router..

NTL tested the connection & stated all was well....But they would say that, wouldnt they
