Couple of tings...

First of all, I've got online using an NTL box to a router to the 360 yet when I play I can't even get into the game without it disconnecting. I have no clue why it keeps doing that. It did it with my ps2 too.

Also, I tried plugging the 360 ethernet lead from the console to the modem and put the mac address in but it also failed. How do I fix this?

NTL box to a router? What do you mean exactly?

If you plug your xbox360 directly into your cable modem did you switch everything off and wait at least 30 seconds before switching the cable modem on, wait for the ready light to stop flashing and then switch on the xbox360.
