Thinking of getting an XBOX360
Yes I know the Wii is out and I love the machine but I want to see what other games come out for it first, but i am getting one next year. The PS3 is something else I thought about but after being stung with the ps2 and price drop not that long after its release (not to mention the cost of the ps3) i have decided I want a 360
I have a normal xbox at the moment which I still enjoy playing and wont get rid of as i know not all games are emulated on the 360 yet.
Are these machines worth getting then? I have played on one a few times and I love Viva Pinata at the moment, but what other games are worth getting if i get one? besides GOW before thats mentioned!
And where can I get the best packs from?
Any advice is gratfully appreciated!

Re: Thinking of getting an XBOX360
Xbox 360 is 100% brill!
If you like first person shooters, buy or look at farcry, doom, or take a look at fear or prey.
Dead rising is a laugh, and oblivion is superb as a role playing game.
As for packs, I buy mostly from Game or Gamestation ( I like to take stuff home with me, instead of buying over the net) but there are good deals around everywhere now.

If you buy a vga cable for the 360 you can hook it up to any monitor or tv with a vga plug on it and you will get hd graphics if the monitor supports it.

I use my supplied component HD cable that came with my 360, but I saved a while to get a proper HD ready screen, the toshiba 32WLT66, from www.soundandvisiononline.com but as long as the tv you have/may buy supports true HD, then the images will be superb.
Failing true HD, then you can buy the RGB scart lead, from game, gamestation or currys, this gives a very good picture on normal crt non HD tv's.

Re: Thinking of getting an XBOX360
Notable mention for Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (it's not everyone's cup of tea)
Tony Hawks Project 8 for a bit of light entertainment.

If you have a 360 there is a demo on the market place. I have played it but can't really comment as I don't understand the game at all.

Don't know about Tony Hawks but the Sonic game has had some negative comments made about it.

Re: Thinking of getting an XBOX360
I can vouch for Project 8... its a good game, bringing new challenges of an open arena minus the load times... and the old skool challenges into one mix.
GoW and CoD3 are brilliant, some would argue CoD2 is better online... I cant say myself as I only have the 3rd installment and thats good enough for me.

Re: Thinking of getting an XBOX360
I've heard that the Sonic game is pretty crap.
Must haves IMO:
Gears of War
Oblivion
Splinter Cell - Double Agent
Project Gotham Racing 3
Other notables:
Call of Duty 3
Ghost Recon - Advanced Warfighter
Perfect Dark Zero (single player isn't groundbreaking, but it's still a good game, & I liked it more than the original PD on the N64).
