Re: Problem

Aye back to shop an import from Japan. They tend to work once you figure out the instructions on screen.

UK import versions for some reason are never near quality of a import from japan/Usa.

Re: Problem

I have had that many Xbox and PS2's pack in when bought in UK, I chose to import a Japanese and USA system ( Jap ps2 ) and USA Xbox, thse have worked better then any other.

I seriously think the UK market gets the cheaper end of the makers systems, to keep cost down so shops sell a cheaper nastier system.

I had a PS2 when they first came out - it broke within 12 months... wasn't there something on the BBC programme Watchdog about 'faulty' PS2 consoles not so long back?

Re: Problem

Aye there was the CRDE ( cant read disk error ) which dogged lots of PS2s worldwide, but for some "unknown" reason, it mainly hit the UK, I imported a USA PS2 which I have now sold for the new shape one, and it worked well, but every UK console I have had has been pants.

Re: Problem

We've got to go back during the week when they get some more in. I was told there was a shortage all over the country but went in Comet after PC World and they have got about 4 or 5 on the shelf.

Oh well I'm not bothered because it wasn't my Christmas present.

Sounds like a failed attempt at someone modchipping the xbox!, and the error message you describe means a hard drive fault. I am going to talk you through a dashboard hard drive format without opening the case, this method works on all v1.4 xbox's and most others, im not sure if the cyristial is one of them, but you can allways try. Switch on your xbox, go to settings then goto system info
Now enter:

1) Y
2) X
3) UP on the very left controller stick
3) LEFT on the very left controller stick
4) A

If these codes dont work on your xbox, call up xbox CS, give them your xbox serial number then say that you think there is somthing wrong with the hard disk and they will tell you the codes for your xbox model.

Anyway leggom, i havent seen you on the whole ntlhell scene much, apart from on KA's old site (ntlhellworld.com), where have you been?

-Chris
