Unhappy Permanently engaged dialup no.

Just wondered if anybody else was having problems withe NTL dialup 2day? I usually use 147008089909877 but that's been engaged all morning. Currently using 126308005190100 & although that gives me internet access, it doesn't allow me to d/l email or access my online forex trading platform. Is there a backup no. I can use or is the 147008089909877 no. the only one available? Any suggestions gratefully received.

Cheers

Permanently engaged dialup no.

I do too, the 0808 9909877 friaco number I explained in another thread earlier, is according to BT engineers, still in existance the problem is ntl have removed or 'phist' the router to that number which means it'll either be engaged in your case, or in mine it'll not be recognised at all! Mine was taken out on 14th June.

It is my belief that ntl are no longer contracted to these routers to the exchanges (51 have been recently removed around the country) so BT wholesale have taken them away.

I'm afraid the 0800 5190100 is the only number ntl now have that partially functions (it does not allow ftp or SSL platform either).
The only other one 0800 5190600 is permanently engaged for me so it's router has also probably been removed.

Re: Permanently engaged dialup no.

But if they remove the router so that the line is permanently engaged, what exactly are we paying for? I thought it was a dialup internet connection that worked or am I being naive? ;~}

I have managed to get back on the 0808 9909877 no. after over 2 hours, but are you saying you're on NTL Freedom but haven't been able to connect to the Internet since 14/6?

Permanently engaged dialup no.

You are paying ntl for your calls only, your internet surfing is FREE.
Both my dialers manual installed and the disk bundle version have not managed to connect me on the 0808 number since the 13th June and my line and exchange have been passed A-OK.
