Modem keeps rebooting it's self

I have an "NTL Home 100" modem connected to a ASUS WL500g wireless router, my broadband service got upgraded to 10meg a couple of weeks ago, and now, when i'm dowloading something the modem reboots it's self.
Does anyone know what the problem is or is it that the "NTL Home 100" modem just can't handle the 10meg service and i need to get my modem changed from NTL for something better.

Thanks!

It is quickly becoming clear the Ammy's 100 can not handle the 10meg speed with or without a firmware update. You need to get that old boy replaced with a 250.

Re: Modem keeps rebooting it's self

Check your router WAN port configuration.

Is it a 100Mb connection to modem?
If its a 10Mb half duplex connection, like many older routers are, this is the cause of your problems.
I was getting modem reboots ALL THE TIME until I replaced the router. Not had a single reboot since.

I spent an hour on the phone to TS about this problem, and aparently if the routers WAN port cant cope with the 10Mb signal it loses the downstream signal and causes a reboot.

Try a direct connection Modem -> PC and see if this sorts the problem, if it does get a new router...

Re: Modem keeps rebooting it's self

Thanks to everyone that replied, i contacted NTL today and they are sending someone out on Monday to replace my modem and it seems that they know there are some problems with older modems and the 10meg service.
