Telewest - What are the available areas?

Few years back, I used to live in Enfield and was lucky enough to be one of the first with Telewest broadband, the service was flawless. About a year later i moved to Watford (2004) and i did a post code check from their website and there are no telewest services so i had to go ADLS (BT ). However the telewest site said there is a full NTL service - go figure.

Im currently in Peru (travelling 1 year backpacking) and will return to the UK March 2006 so out of curiosity i did a another postcode check and there are STILL no telewest services in Watford but NTL still serve this area.

I dont understand this, if the area is cabled, why cant both companies offer this service? I dont really want to go with NTL, ive heard so many bad things about them and my experience with telewest was superb and want to return to them.

By the time you return, the two companies will have merged, so your choice will reduce from the two to just one...
