Just Had New Modem - which one is it?
OK - wife tells me the NTL engineer has just fitted a new MODEM... I had a 100 before (silver). It is now black.... which one is that?!?

It should be printed on the label on the bottom, along with the serial number… at least, it is on mine!  |

Hi, I have the surfboard 3100 modem. is it ok for the 10mb upgrade, ntl cs said yes, others have said no I need a modem upgrade, thanks. ps sorry if this is posted in the wrong place

No, you will only get around 5-6mbit from it. And in my experience browsing was impossible while downloading at that speed.

The girl I spoke to in cs asked someone who said it would take the 10mb and did I want to upgrade over the phone, So I would have been wasting money going for the higher price 10mb as my modem will not get me that? Sound like getting a new modem is like getting blood out of a stone.  |
