pace stb problems

have had 1mb broadband for about 3 years now and for the past year has required rebooting every 12hours or so due to the loss of the internet connection.
problem started a couple months after upgrading my comp from win98 to winxp pro and i no this isnt the cause as i have a laptop (winxp home) which looses connection aswell even if it is the only comp on the network. i also have my xbox and ps2 on the network which looses connection randomly.
after i restart my stb the connection is fine and can use the net again.
called several technicians out but all they have done is change some of the connections, added a signal thingy and replaced the stb and none of this has helped.
has anybody experienced any similar problems
any thoughts would be good

Do you have problems if you remove the router from the equation and connect directly to the set top box?

Just a note for you had a belkin for many years and had to reboot it on the stb connection often.
Tried a actiontec and it was similar having to reboot, using us robotics now works perfect
From experience check router especially belkin ones
also check the stb return path and snr values.
