What could be the problem....?

Setup:

SB4100 > WRT54GS > RALINK RT2500 Based Wireless NIC

Problem:

Cannot get over 5mb from a single connection, all speed tests just show as 5mb, any single downloads never go over 5-600kB/s however when running multiple dls, I can get the full whack.

Can anybody hazard a guess why?

Re: What could be the problem....?

a quick google shows that the max UDP stream rate for your router is 500kbps which might explain the problem see here

i guess it might be able to provide this over multiple streams which might be the reason for full speed over multiple d/l's??

Thanks for your reply, I thought maybe that could be it but I'm not sure what that says, as 500kb would be like 60kB/s and anyway fetching over web would use TCP anyway.

I was pretty sure myself aswell Wicked that the router should be able to do more but I'll try straight through to the modem tommorow and see what that gives.
